Immigration

Here's my take on the immigration issue:
Even if there was wall built (a US government money pit; ever see Tom Hanks in the movie Money Pit?) the immigrants would still get through.

Penn & Teller have some very good points examining this issue:




If there really is as big a problem as claimed the US should knock off pissing money away in Bush's fruitless war and start to help our neighbors here in the Americas. If a little bit of effort were to be invested in this hemisphere the Americas could thrive.

But, as it is, the US corporate business model ordains that the bottom line takes prescience over all and needs cheap labor, whether it's illegally imported or "legally" outsourced (thanks goes to Reagan & Bill Clinton for outsourcing). If we could somehow change or abandon this unhealthy business model we would start seeing some long term solutions and not just quick fixes like walls and jails.
